World Hemophilia Day, April 17th

World Hemophilia Day is an international observance held annually on April 17 by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). It is an awareness day for hemophilia and other inherited and acquired bleeding disorders. April 17 was chosen in honor of WFH founder Frank Schnabel, who was born on that day. World Hemophilia Day, first observed in 1989, is a day of celebration and appreciation of the vast number of family members and other individuals who provide care, services and support for those living with Hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
